DESCRIPTION:イベント詳細はこちら\nhttps://techplay.jp/event/48129
 ?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=ics&utm_campaign=ics\n\nSpree is a comple
te open source e-commerce solution for Ruby on Rails. This event will fea
ture two presentations from developers using Spree professionally. The pr
esentations will be aimed at people who haven't used Spree before\, and i
ntroduce some of the benefits and challenges of the framework.\n\nAgenda\
n\n\n19:00 〜 19:30 Doors open\n\nGrab a drink and catch up with your fe
llow Rubyists.\n\n\n19:30 〜 19:50 How I learned to stop worrying and us
e the Spree Kei Shiratsuchi\n\n\nWhy use Rails and Spree? Why should you
undertake your own business? What are Spree's good and bad points? How ca
n you master it? This presentation will answer these questions.\n\nProfil
e\n\nKei Shiratsuchi is working for Oh My Glasses\, an start-up that sell
s glasses online. He is from Sapporo\, and loves JavaScript and Ruby.\n\n
\n20:00 〜 20:30 Degica on Spree Chris Salzberg\n\n\nA leading provider
of e-commerce solutions\, Degica is a small but growing company whose car
t and payment systems move products and services in Japan and around the
world.\n\nOver recent years\, Degica has transitioned from an outdated\,
hard-to-maintain technology stack to a more efficient\, reliable one buil
t on Ruby on Rails and Spree. The transition\, while challenging and not
yet complete\, is helping Degica to position itself as a uniquely compete
nt\, dynamic technology company at the intersection of local and global m
arkets.\n\nLeveraging Spree is key to this transition. The Degica platfor
m extends Spree to meet the needs of customers and clients through new ge
ms\, decorators and other custom code. In this talk\, I'll present some o
f these customizations and also discuss how Degica gives back to the comm
unity through bug fixes and other contributions to spree-core itself.\n\n
Profile\n\nChris Salzberg leads the web development team at Degica's Toky
o office. A full-stack Ruby on Rails developer originally from Montreal\,
Canada\, he is one of the authors of Globalize\, the Rails I18n de-facto
standard library for ActiveRecord model/data translation\, and a recent
contributor to Spree. He blogs at dejimata.com.\n\n\n20:30 〜 22:00 Open

th the other attendees.\n\nWarning about the Venue\n\n\nFrom 7pm\, the fr
