Chris is passionate about technolo gy and hiring pleasant people. Upon joining Bespoke in late 2018\, she st reamlined the technical interview process to maximize for efficiency and culture fit\, and since then has grown the engineering team from 7 to 15 engineers\, hiring roles from web developer to QA to machine learning eng ineer.Before joining Bespoke\, Chris was a Software Development Manager a t Amazon Web Services and she holds an MSc. in Computer Science and Engin eering. --Mike Omoto:--Michael Toshiro Omoto graduated from UC Irvine in 2006 with a degree in psychology\, and had careers in teaching and resear ch before becoming a programmer. He joined a team of four engineers at Pr esto\, then known as E la Carte\, in 2012 in Silicon Valley. In 2015\, he was promoted to the Director of Engineering until 2018\, when he joined Mercari as an Engineering Manager.He strongly believes that having a dive rse engineering team directly leads to better product\, including having people of diverse backgrounds. As creating technology becomes more and mo re accessible\, it is clear that the next generation of startups will be led not by CS majors\, but by tech bilinguals\, who have deep domain know ledge in the systems they're trying to improve.In his spare time\, he vol unteers for programming bootcamps\, the Japanese American National Museum \, and the Pan-American Nikkei Association.Mike actually started his prog ramming career as the 4th engineer in a startup.
