Science) Seminar Series\nThe AIP AI4S (AI for Science) Seminar Series is
organized by the RIKEN Center for Advanced Intelligence Project (AIP).\n
\nThis seminar series features invited researchers presenting recent adva
nces\, emerging methodologies\, and interdisciplinary applications in AI
for Science.\nThrough this series\, we aim to promote cross-disciplinary
discussion\, foster collaboration\, and strengthen the AI for Science res
earch community.\nDetails of each seminar will be announced individually.
 \n\nDate & Time: 11:45am-12:45am (JST)\, February 27\, 2026\nVenue: Zoom
 meeting\nSpeaker: Kana Moriwaki\nAffiliation: Assistant Professor\, Unive
rsity of Tokyo / Visiting Scientist\, RIKEN AIP\nTitle: Fundamental physi
cs and cosmology with ML/AI\nAbstract:\nNext generation physics experimen
ts and astronomical observations will deliver a sheer amount of data. Thi
s necessiates development of novel methods to produce scientific results.
I introduce recent development of modern ML/AI methods for physical scie
nce\, including signal extraction\, noise reduction and emulation technol
ogies. I also address crucial issues in high-performance computing and GP
U optimization that are needed for the application development and for st
atistical analysis in order to accelerate our science research.
