近年、様々な領域で、AI（機械学習）の要素を取り入れてビジネスや学術に活かしていこうといった試みが急速に増えています。 一方で、それに必要なデータがなかなか取れる環境になかったり、沢山あったとしてもそれらのビッグデータを、処理時間の問題も含めて、どのように有効活用できるか、といったところの困難に直面することが少なくありません。 そこで今回弊社で初めてmeet-upのような勉強会を開催することにしました。機械学習やコンピューティングに関して経験のある方にその辺の話を楽しく話してもらいながら、皆さんでデータサイエンスについての知識を深めていきたいと考えています。

Lately AI/Machine learning is becoming increasingly important in business. But we are all realizing that the main problem that we are facing is having good data. Even if we have lots of data we spend most of our time preparing it.

Here in Asurion we are also facing these problems to provide services to our users. This is the first time Asurion is running a Data Science meet-up here in Tokyo. We will bring three top machine learning experts to teach us and the talks will be in English. We want this event to be casual, fun and a serious learning experience at the same time. The speeches will be in English, and not very long (around 20 minutes each). Later we will have food and drinks. And the event it’s free!

Specially interested in relational data learning, recommendation systems, information retrieval systems. Likes to write OSS.
