Algorithms & Data Structures: Real World Applications

Programming is all about data structures and algorithms: first are used to hold data while last are used to solve the problem using that data. However, If you don't have a CS background there's a high chance you might never have heard of Djikstra's Algorithm or Red-Black Tree, important concepts that have a business application in the real world.

For this talk, we are excited to welcome Francisco Dalla Rosa Soares, Head of Engineering at Retail AI, who will introduce a few famous Data Structures and Algorithms and present how important they are with real world examples.

About Francisco Dalla Rosa Soares

Francisco started programming at 8 years old with a MS-DOS batch programming book. After finishing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science in Brazil, he came to Japan for his Master’s in Natural Language Processing. Having experienced many different companies, domestic and international, big and small, including Google, he now leads a team of engineers and data scientists at Retail AI building the next generation of solutions for brick and mortar retailers.
