Salesforceは、「残念ながら」圧倒的にテキストでデータが投入される従来型のリレーショナルデータベースです。「残念ながら」というのは、Salesforceの中を情報検索するのに、従来のアプローチでは明らかに不十分であるためです。データベース言語は数字と日付けでフィルターをかけますが、テキストとの完全一致が求められます。Googleのような検索では、ドキュメント内の類似したテキストを検索できますが、データベースの構造や強力なデータタイプを理解しません。

Salesforceには、データベースの構造と強力なデータタイプの両方の検索能力が必要です。このセッションでは、これらが何であるかを学び、Salesforceの環境においてこれらを活用して検索体験と分析体験を向上させる方法を学びます。

Salesforce is a traditional relational database “unfortunately” populated predominantly with text. This is why traditional approaches for finding information in Salesforce often fall short. Database languages filter on numbers and dates but require exact matches for text. Google-like search can find similar text in documents, but does not understand database structure or strong data types.

Salesforce requires capabilities from both. In this session, you will learn what they are and how to use them to improve your search and analysis experience in your Salesforce environment.

Andrew has been a principal contributor to the enterprise search market for 15 years as VP Sales & Marketing at FAST (Microsoft); co-founder at Attivio (currently the leading cognitive search company); and co-founder, CTO, and now CEO of Kona DataSearch. He acquired his SaaS experience as an executive at GetConnected (Allconnect) and VCI (Cisco), analytics experience as CTO at Praedictus, and database, BI, and ETL experience as principal architect and engineer at Hummingbird (OpenText) and Sybase (SAP).
