国内外で13万人以上の従業員を有する、アパレル製造小売業のファーストリテイリング。

ユニクロやジーユーなどの店舗での販売業務以外にも、多岐に渡る部署・業務が会社を支えています。その中でも、特に ITを担う部署の存在感は日ごとに増しています。現在世界第3位のアパレル企業であるファーストリテイリングが、どのような技術的取り組みを行い、革新を起こそうとしているかご存知ですか？

実は、

・画像解析技術を駆使した最新のファッショントレンド分析

・IoTを用いたサプライチェーン改革

・リアルとデジタルをつなぐ、コマースシステム

などはほんの一例に過ぎず、サプライチェーンから販売まで幅広い分野で IT を活用し、革新を進めています。

今回は「情報製造小売業」という世界初の産業を目指す、ファーストリテイリングの内製開発チームの技術的な取り組みの一部を、皆様にご紹介いたします。

19:10〜19:30	Creating maintainable mobile applications Johannes Borchardt Building an app from scratch that is supposed to be maintained and extended for years to come and needs to replace an active application with millions of downloads in Japan alone is no easy task. In this talk we will look at the architectural decisions the application engineering team has made for the Uniqlo native mobile application to meet these demands and how it kept communication cost low by maintaining a similar code structure for both Android and iOS, while leveraging each platforms' strengths.
19:30〜19:50	Taking the Suck out of Localized String Management Digital Business Transformation and Services Common Services Engineering Team Lead Alex Kovacs As we're preparing our commerce platform for deployment in all markets, we're forced to rethink many processes which won't scale globally if we don't automate them now. Managing localized strings for just one or two languages can already be quite messy when done manually, wasting lots of engineer time which would better be spent building new features. In this talk, we report on our first steps towards introducing a Continous Localization platform.
20:00〜20:20	逆境に追い込まれた開発を再生する「強いチーム」の作り方 Digital Business Transformation and Services Product Information Engineering Team Lead 村田雄一ファーストリテイリングの商品情報を Global EC に提供し、商品展示オペレーションをサポートする「カタログプラットフォーム」と、その開発で遭遇した様々な逆境を乗り越える開発チームについてご紹介します。課題山積でなかなかリリースをすることの出来ない状況から、継続して機能をデリバリーが出来る「勝てる」チームに変わり、内製エンジニアが活き活きと仕事に打ち込むまでになった現在までの変遷を語ります。

大谷晋平

株式会社ファーストリテイリンググループ執行役員　グループCTO

東京電機大学卒業後、システムインテグレータで金融系エンジニア・アーキテクト、Amazon Web Servicesでソリューションアーキテクトおよび部長を経て、2016年、ファーストリテイリングに。UI/UXデザイン、開発・アーキテクチャ、およびグローバルインフラストラクチャを担当するコアエンジニアリング部をリード。

Digital Business Transformation and Services Android architect Dev Lead of Application Engineering

Released his first app with the start of the German Android market. Founded an Android-only company in the beginning of 2011. Moved to Japan in 2016 and is currently the Android architect and Application team's DevLead.

Alex Kovacs

Digital Business Transformation and Services Common Services Engineering Team Lead

Alex has been living in Japan for ten years and joined Fast Retailing in 2018. He started his career in IT Management at Daimler in Germany, then worked as iOS software developer, and was Director of Engieering for a small Japanese tech start-up, overseeing the development and operation of a loyalty and payments platform for drink vending.
