Introduction
Exploring the Future of Engineer Cafe
What is the Possibility of Future Engineer and Community?
We aim to brainstorm together with guests and participants from both Japan and abroad to create the future of engineers, engineer communities, and the Engineer Cafe!
We are pleased to share that the Engineer Cafe is increasingly being used by overseas engineers!
We feel that this development presents an opportunity for the Engineer Cafe to support our users—the engineers and engineer communities centered around Fukuoka—by facilitating the expansion of new skills and connections through interactions with overseas engineers.
Therefore, in this event, focusing on Taiwan—which we recently visited on the "Taiwan Tour 2024" with the Engineer Cafe—we will invite guests from overseas involved in product development from software to hardware. We will openly learn together about various themes such as key areas in each country, differences in engineer communities and event cultures, and together with all participants. Let's envision the future of the Engineer Cafe and Fukuoka's tech scene!
There’s no need to fear language barriers. The common language of engineers is source code. ^^
We hope that through the engineer friends and communities you connect with at this event, you will be excited about the future of engineers and the Engineer Cafe.
Guest
KK
Taiwan Digital Nomad Association
Since 2014, KK has been working as an engineer and actively participating in various engineering communities in Taiwan, including establishing his own. In 2018, he began his journey as a digital nomad, traveling to over 20 countries and gaining insights into the engineering ecosystems in different regions. During this time, he also founded a co-working café & bar in Taiwan, specifically designed to serve the needs of digital workers.
Qiu Shiwei
JPASS
Originally from Taiwan, he came to Japan in 2016 with the goal of creating services that would bridge the gap between Taiwan and Japan. In 2019, he founded ALION Inc., a system development company. In 2021, he expanded into Taiwan with a cross-border e-commerce business offering subscription-based Japanese souvenirs. The following year, he launched "SWise," a service aimed at reducing communication costs for engineers, and established SWise Inc. This year, he founded JPass Inc., a company dedicated to supporting business expansion between Taiwan and Japan. Currently, he is developing various projects to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
Yuanlin Lin
Zeabur
A native of Taiwan, who graduated last year with a degree in Information Engineering from Zhejiang University. He is currently the founder and CEO of Zeabur, a PaaS startup that enables developers to deploy any programming project or database service to the cloud with just one click.
Zeabur began as his graduation thesis project, addressing pain points he faced as a freelance full-stack developer. The project secured Y Combinator China pre-seed funding before his graduation and became the first Taiwanese startup to top ProductHunt rankings with over a thousand votes.
As a full-stack engineer exploring the digital nomad lifestyle, he aims to travel while helping developers worldwide create valuable products more affordably and easily.
Vivian Chen
Taiwan Tech Arena Senior Director
Deputy Business Director of Taiwan Tech Arena, a support hub for Taiwan's technology startups. Launched by the National Science and Technology Commission in 2018, Taiwan Tech Arena's vision is to build a vibrant international startup ecosystem in Taiwan. It fosters entrepreneurship and innovation by serving as a platform that connects technology, talent, markets, and capital.
lovee
Works at Yumemi Inc., working on iOS app development. A member of both HAKATA.swift and Mobachiki. Due to personal beliefs, he only writes code in Swift and refrains from using other programming languages. My experience as a programmer equals the age of Swift. I prefers a clean, readable coding style. A Chinese national who has spent half of my life in Japan. My hobbies include driving. This will be his first time attending Taiwan COSCUP.
