We’re proud to announce that over 10,000 events have been created on Doorkeeper! Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this point.

To mark this occasion, we’re holding our first Doorkeeper Users Meetup. At the meetup, you’ll have a chance to meet the Doorkeeper team and other Doorkeeper event organizers.

With over 10000 events hosted on Doorkeeper, we have a lot of data about what makes a successful event. We’ll highlight some of the interesting things we’ve learned from looking at this data, and answer questions like “What’s the best day to have my event?” and “How can I reduce no-shows?”.

Launched in 2004, Mobile Monday Tokyo is a networking event that routinely attracts 100-200 people in the wireless industry.

It was the first community to use Doorkeeper, and now is the biggest with over 5000 members. This presentation will cover tips for event organizers learned from 10 years of hosting events.

Yasu organizes two very different communities: King of Ground, Japan’s premeir BMX flatland event, and Liferay, an open source portal. This presentation will compare the challenges faced in building the different communities.
