Hexagon UX Tokyo: Inclusive Work Cultures

Hexagon UX is a global community for women and nonbinary individuals in UX to share stories & support with each other. We focus on community events & mentorship. We support women in UX!

Sponsored by relativ*, the very FIRST Hexagon UX Tokyo event will be held on Wednesday, May 16th at 7:30PM at Goodpatch in Shibuya! For our first event, we’ll be having a talk and interactive workshop on [Title pending: still waiting on speakers] done by Yui Anzai, Product Manager and Meghan Radke, Product Designer, both from Pivotal Labs. Support women and nonbinary folks in UX and come learn with us!

The agenda is as follows:

• 8:10 ~ 8:30 Talk: Creating a Comfortable Place to Work

• 8:30 ~ 8:45 Break

• 8:45 ~ 9:45 Workshop: Facilitation Techniques for an Inclusive Decision Making Process

• 9:45 ~ 10:00 Closing and Networking

The event will be in English with Japanese slides and support.

TALK: Creating a Comfortable Place to Work Creating a diverse workplace is the key to success in this fast paced world of technology. We will discuss what privilege means and also how to use this to help make your work environment a more diverse, happy, and comfortable place for everyone to work in.

WORKSHOP: Facilitation Techniques for an Inclusive Decision Making Process Diverse teams are positioned to create better products - if its members feel empowered to actually surface different POVs. In this workshop, we will explore techniques to facilitate an inclusive decision making process that lets everyone's voice heard.

株式会社relativ*提供、Goodpatch渋谷オフィスにて来週水曜、5/16 19:30よりHexagonUX東京初となるイベントを開催します！Pivotal LabsのYui AnzaiとMeghan Radkeによる「居心地いい職場作り」のトーク、「インクルーシブな決断をするためのファシリテーション」インタラクティブワークショップの二部構成となっています。楽しいこと間違い無し。UXで働く女性、ノンバイナリーの人をサポートしながら一緒に学びましょう！

トーク：居心地のよい場作り 多様性の高いチーム作りは今のテック業界において不可欠です。このトークでは「特権」とは何か、そして全員にとって多様で居心地が良く、働きやすい場を作るためにどうしたらいいかを話します。

ワークショップ：多様な声を活かすファシリテーション より良いプロダクト作りのためには多様な視点が重要です。多様性に富んだチームを組んで終わりではなく、人と違う意見を口に出しやすい環境作りが鍵になります。このワークショップではチーム全員の声を効果的に吸い上げるファシリテーションテクニックについて学びます。
