スピーカーの自己紹介

ウェブが大好きで、楽器業界にて6年間のサーバサイド、4年間のフロントエンドでのウェブアプリケーション開発を約10年行ってきました。現在はMIDIのAPI（Web MIDI API）の標準化に向けてW3Cと連携をしての活動もしています。 好きな言語は、JavaScript、PHP、Perl、Node.jsです。

内容

MIDI、Bluetoothなどの外部デバイスと接続するブラウザのJavaScript APIについてのお話をします。 これらはどれもブラウザと外部デバイスを直接続するAPIです。特にここ数年はブラウザをアプリケーションプラットフォームにするという流れがありますが、まだま欠けている部分があると思います。その1つが外部デバイスとの連携だと考えています。 そこで短い時間ではありますが、主にブラウザが外部デバイスと連携をするAPIについての現状についてのお話をさせていただきます。

Speaker Self Introduction

I love the web. I have worked in the music industry as a software engineer for 10 years. Six of those years were spent on the server side and remaining 4 on the front-end. My favorite languages are JavaScript, PHP, Perl, and Node.js and I am currently working closely with W3C to standardize Web MIDI. I currently call San Francisco home but do a lot of traveling back and forth between Japan and US.

What is this talk about?

The browser once, a simple tool for fetching and rendering content is now the most important application platform in the world. However, there are challenges and one such issue is the ability to connect to external devices. This talk focuses on the MIDI and Bluetooth API's that allow the browser to communicate with external devices.
