From code to release
Building software is not just about coding: it's about evolution. The more features and fixes stockpiled to meet users' requirements, the more bugs developers might introduce. Moreover, bugs may hide long in a software until all authors left and then show up when it is used in an environment that was not designed for. Therefore, in order to keep high software quality, developing teams need to be equipped with the following capabilities:
- code review
- issue management
- release management
The Transformation and Modernization of Line’s In-House Deployment System
PMC, Line's in-house application deployment system, is used by Line's application teams 400 times per day. However, as it was designed many years ago, it has fallen behind the current trends, in terms of UI, architecture and efficiency. Now Line is working hard on transforming and modernizing PMC. What methods were adopted? What lessons were learned? The stories behind will be shared in this talk.
