[Online] Women in Tech at Woven by Toyota

今回のイベントでは、車両ソフトウェアOS・プラットフォームである「Arene」、モビリティのためのテストコースである「Woven City」、最新技術を用いてウーブン・バイ・トヨタとトヨタ自動車全体の生産的で効率的なソフトウェア開発を支えるエンタープライズ・テクノロジー（Enterprise Technology）である「EnTec」の3つの分野のチームよりそれぞれスピーカーが参加します。ウーブン・バイ・トヨタでは、多様性あふれる職場環境を目指すため、エンジニアが働く場においても多様性を大切にしています。

今回は、3つのそれぞれの分野において働く女性エンジニアの働き方や活躍をテーマにイベントを実施いたします。

各分野の多様なバックグラウンドを持つ女性エンジニアが話すクロストークや懇親会等のセッションを通して、ご自身のワークライフバランスを考慮したキャリアプラン形成に役立てていただけますと幸いです。

スピーカー紹介

マイラ・カステラノス

Product Owner, Arene
電子工学のバックグラウンドと、自動車業界およびイノベーション管理の経験を持つ。その経験を組み合わせ、Areneチームにて車両ソフトウェア開発プラットフォームのミッションとビジョンを推進する。ベネズエラの出身で、社会人として生活のほとんどをドイツで過ごした。現在は東京に住んでおり、新しい冒険を経験し、日本文化を発見することを楽しむ。

ヨン・ペ

Frontend UI Engineer, Arene Online Services
2021年4月に入社し、フロントエンドのUIエンジニアを務める。Areneのデザインシステムを創ることを夢見て入社したが、今では重要なユーザーになっている。学士号として、マルチメディア・エンジニアリングと英語翻訳・通訳の2つを専攻。入社前は、韓国の企業であるNaverにて、ソフトウェアエンジニアとしてローカルプレイスプラットフォーム用のウェブアプリケーションを開発。2019年から2020 年にかけてWomenWhoCode Seoulのボランティア活動をソウルで行い、自身が翻訳したGraphQLの本についてライトニングトークを行った。東京へ来た後は、週末に日本人エンジニアの友人2人と開発自習グループを共同主催している。自由時間には、JLPT N2試験の合格に向けて日本語の勉強も行う。

マイケル・パドン

Director, City OS Platform, City Platform
シティソフトウェアプラットフォームの責任者として、Woven Cityのデジタルの核心部の構築に携わる。キャリアを積み上げる上で、セキュリティ（暗号化含む）、オープンソース、機械学習を大切にしている。Woven Cityを担当する前は、Google Chromeにて、アーキテクチャ、ローディング、ナビゲーション、ネットワーキングのチームを率いた。メルボルン大学でコンピュータサイエンスの理学士号、インペリアル・カレッジ・ロンドンで投資とリスクを専門とするMBA、ロンドン大学で情報セキュリティの修士号を取得。40以上の特許を持ち、25つほどの論文を発表している。

ダリヤ・バジェニナ

Machine Learning Engineer, Behavior AI
機械学習エンジニアとして、Woven Cityの研究開発に携わる。音声認識、行動モデリング、動画情報理解を専門とする。コンピュータサイエンスで博士号を取得。勉強会のリーダーとしてWomenWhoCode Tokyoのボランティアにも参加している。

ウシャ・ラマチャンドラン

Group Product Manager
EnTecの製品管理をリード。エンジニアとしてキャリアをスタートし、20年以上のキャリアを通じて、テクニカルマーケティングエンジニア、セールスエンジニア、プロダクトマネージャーなど、さまざまな役割を担当。3年前にカリフォルニア州サンフランシスコから東京に移住し、2022年9月に入社。自由時間にはハイキングをしたり、日本の新しい場所を探索したりすることが好き。

ショルーック・サーレー

Software Engineer, Platform Engineeringプラットフォームエンジニアとして入社する以前は、アドテック、フィンテック、自動配信を専門とするクウェートとエジプトのスタートアップ企業と仕事を行なっていた。コミュニティに情熱を持ち、アラブ首長国連邦、クウェート、エジプト、日本におけるテクノロジーへの取り組みに積極的に貢献。Google開発者グループとアラブ女性コンピューティング支部を率い、影響力のあるワークショップやイベントを企画した経験を持つ。現在ではWomen Techmaker アンバサダーとして活動しながら、#IamRemarkableなどのワークショップや洞察力に富んだ技術トークを通じて、女性に力を与えている。自由時間には、競争力のあるハッカソンやゲームジャムをしたり、絵を描いたり、ウクレレを演奏するなど、さまざまな活動に取り組んでいる。日本文化とそのユニークな体験を探索する日々を送っている。

[Online] Women in Tech at Woven by Toyota

At this event, we’ll have speakers from three key areas of our business; “Arene", our innovative vehicle software OS and platform, “Woven City", our test course for mobility, and “EnTec”, enterprise technology that supports the productive and efficient software development at both Woven by Toyota and Toyota Motor Corporation.

We’re striving to build a more diverse workplace, and invite you to hear from other women engineers from these teams on their experience and learnings from throughout their careers.

In addition to these sessions there will be social gathering where you can connect with other women engineers from diverse backgrounds.

Speaker Information

Mayra Castellanos

Product Owner, Arene
Having a background in electronic engineering and experience in the automotive industry and innovation management, Mayra combines her experiences to drive forward the mission and vision of the Arene automotive software development platform. Mayra comes from Venezuela and spent most of her professional life in Germany. She’s excited about living in Tokyo, experiencing new adventures and discovering Japanese culture.

Young Bae

Frontend UI Engineer, Arene Online Services
Young has been a front-end UI engineer since April 2021. She joined Woven by Toyota with a dream of creating a design system for Arene, but she is now becoming a significant consumer. She double majored in multimedia engineering and English translation and interpretation as a bachelor. Before joining Woven by Toyota, she worked as a software engineer at Naver in Seongnam, South Korea, developing web applications for the local place platform. In 2019-2020, she volunteered at WomenWhoCode Seoul and was a lightning-talk speaker about the GraphQL book she translated. After moving to Tokyo, she co-hosts the weekend dev self-study group with two other Japanese engineer friends. During her free time, she also studies Japanese to pass the JLPT N2 exam this year.

Michael Paddon

Director, City OS Platform, City Platform
As the head of City Software Platform, Michael has been building the digital heart of Woven City. His career has focused on security (including encryption), open source, and machine learning. Prior to joining Woven City, Michael led the architecture, loading, navigation, and networking teams at Google Chrome. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne, an MBA specializing in Investment and Risk from Imperial College London, and a MSc in Information Security from the University of London. He is the inventor of over 40 patent families and has published around 25 papers.

Daria Vazhenina

Machine Learning Engineer, Behavior AI
As a Machine Learning Engineer, Daria works at Woven City R&D. Her fields of interest include speech recognition, behavior modeling, and video understanding. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer science. In her free time, she volunteers as a Lead of a study group at WomenWhoCode Tokyo.

Usha Ramachandran

Group Product Manager
Usha leads Product Management for EnTec. Starting out as an engineer, Usha has worn several hats through her career of 20+ years, including Technical Marketing Engineer, Sales Engineer and Product Manager. She moved to Tokyo three years ago from San Francisco, CA and joined Woven by Toyota in September 2022. In her free time, Usha loves to hike and explore new places in Japan.

Shorook Saleh

Software Engineer, Platform Engineering
Before joining Woven by Toyota as a Platform Engineer, Shorook worked with startups in Kuwait and Egypt that specialize in AdTech, FinTech, and Automated Delivery. Passionate about community, Shorook actively contributed to tech initiatives in UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, and Japan. She led Google Developer Group and Arab Women In Computing chapters, organizing impactful workshops and events. While acting as a Women Techmaker ambassador, she empowers women through workshops like #IamRemarkable and insightful technical talks. In her free time, Shorook thrives on diverse activities that range from competitive Hackathons and Gamejams to painting and playing the Ukulele. Currently, she immerses herself in exploring Japanese culture and its unique experiences.
