概要

クラウドコンピューティングにおけるセキュリティとプライバシーの必要性が、金融、医療などのさまざまな業界で増加しています。

この問題に対処するための有望な技術の1つが、Confidential Virtual Machines（CVMs）です。これは、最近のIntel、AMD、またはARMプロセッサで利用可能な一連のCPU拡張機能であり、悪意のあるホストOSやハイパーバイザーが存在する場合でも、仮想マシン全体を暗号化します。

残念ながら、CVMsはその信頼の前提条件のために安全に展開することが難しく、無視できない性能のオーバーヘッドが発生します。

このセミナーは、以下の分野の専門家による2つのプレゼンテーションで構成されます：

There is an increasing need for security and privacy in Cloud Computing across various industries: finance, healthcare, etc.

One promising technology to address this problem is Confidential Virtual Machines (CVMs), a set of CPU extensions available on recent Intel, AMD or ARM processors, that encrypts an entire virtual machine even in the presence of a malicious host OS or hypervisor.

Unfortunately, CVMs are difficult to securely deploy due to their trust assumptions and incur a non-negligeable performance overhead.

This seminar will be composed of two presentations from experts in the field:

• Kuniyasu Suzaki (IISEC): Remote attestation is necessary for CVM (Slides in English, and Talk in Japanese)
• Pierre Louis Aublin (IIJ): Serverless Confidential Containers (Slides in Japanese, Talk in English)
