概要

Optunaは、オープンソースのブラックボックス最適化フレームワークです。このイベントでは、Optunaのコントリビュータやコミッタが参加者の皆様と一緒に、Optunaの開発を進めます。オフラインでワイワイ口頭で相談しながら、また静かにコミュニケーションしながらみんなで作業しましょう。

開発対象は先日β版を公開したOptunaHubです。OptunaHubはOptunaの機能共有プラットフォームとして開発を進めており、様々な研究者・開発者が自由に機能を登録することができます。今回開発に取り組むアイテムはOptunaHubの機能管理用リポジトリoptunahub-registryに一覧されています (Issueは今後拡充予定です)。是非確認してみてくださいね。

成果を共有したい人は、是非、懇親会でLTにチャレンジして下さい！

参加想定者

ブラックボックス最適化問題のアルゴリズム開発および可視化機能開発に経験または興味のある学生。今回はOptunaコミッターが丁寧にサポートしますので、ブラックボックス開発自体に経験がなくてもOSS開発に興味があれば全く大丈夫です。

GitHubを使った開発を行ったことがあるとスムーズです。また今回はOptunaHubの機能開発に絞ったタスクを行う予定です。コミュニケーションはGitHub上では英語で行いますが、オフラインではコミッタと日本語または英語で行うことができます。

準備

GitHubのアカウントを作成しておいていただけると大変助かります。

開発の後に懇親会があります。少人数で話せる場を用意する予定です。他の参加者とコミュニケーションをとる良い機会ですので、ぜひご参加ください。また、希望者があれば、LT枠を設ける予定です。

Overview

Optuna is an open-source black-box optimization framework. In this event, contributors and committers of Optuna will work on the development of Optuna together with the participants. Let's work together while chatting lively offline or communicating quietly.

The development target is OptunaHub, which recently released its beta version. OptunaHub is being developed as a feature sharing platform for Optuna, where various researchers and developers can freely register features. The items to work on for this development are listed in the OptunaHub feature management repository optunahub-registry (This list will be updated). Please check it out.

If you want to share your results, please feel free to take on the challenge of lightning talks at the get-together!

Expected Participants

Students with experience or interest in developing black-box optimization problem algorithms and visualization features. Optuna committers will carefully support you in this project, so even if you have no experience in black box development itself, it is perfectly fine if you are interested in OSS development.

It will be smooth if you have done development using GitHub. This time, we plan to perform tasks focused on OptunaHub feature development. Communication will be in English on GitHub, but offline it can be done in Japanese or English with the committers.

Social Gathering

After the development, there will be a social gathering. We plan to provide a space where you can talk in small groups. It's a great opportunity to communicate with other participants, so please join. Also, if there are any volunteers, we plan to provide LT slots.
