Abstract

You’ll learn backpropagation – an efficient algorithm that empowers virtually all of the ML nowadays. We will implement a tiny library for backpropagation from scratch.

Since this is an unorthodox session that involves the speaker live coding, for the best experience, please get yourself familiar with Python if you haven't already ;-)

Feng Ye

Feng Ye is a former startup founder. At Indeed, Feng works in the GenAI Infra team and is heavily involved in all aspects of LLM: from training a domain-specific LLM to building company-wide GenAI infrastructure to downstream user-facing applications.

Within Indeed, Feng is also a core member of the Tokyo LLM Study Group. Together, they've launched a hands-on workshop that trained 100+ engineers in APAC on how LLMs work under the hood, and received overwhelmingly positive feedback. This session is an adapted shortened version of that series.
