コード懇親会がバージョンアップ Code Party Upgraded! 🚀
RubyKaigi 2024 で好評だった コード懇親会 を RubyKaigi 2025 でも開催します！
前回の様子:
コード懇親会はコードを書きながら懇親します。 Ruby は楽しくプログラミングできることを大事にしているプログラミング言語です。 みなさんも、いつも Ruby で楽しくプログラミングしているはずです。 だったら、いつものようにコードを書きながら懇親すると楽しそうじゃないですか！
これはよくある懇親会ではありません。よくある懇親会は参加者同士がお酒を飲みながら話をして交流します。コード懇親会は参加者同士が一緒にコードを書きながら交流します。せっかく他の Rubyist と直接やりとりする機会です。一緒に開発して楽しみましょう！

Following the success at RubyKaigi 2024, we're excited to announce the return of our Code Party at RubyKaigi 2025!
At the Code Party, we network while writing code together. Ruby is a programming language that prioritizes the joy of programming. You all must be enjoying programming in Ruby regularly. So, why not network while coding just like you usually do - doesn’t sound like fun?
This might be not your typical social event where participants mingle and chat over drinks; Unlike events you familiar, participants interact by coding together. This is a great opportunity to directly engage with other Rubyists. Let's have fun coding together!
And we're excited to share that Matz, the father of Ruby, is also planning to participate and mingle with us!
We'll also be providing food and drinks that won't easily soil your keyboard! You can join the code party without having dinner

例年は、開始時に参加者それぞれに興味のあるテーマを聞いて、その場でテーマごとにグループを作っていました。しかし、今年は事前にいくつかオススメテーマを用意しました！それぞれのテーマごとにそのテーマに詳しい人がいるので、もし、あなたの興味にあうならより深くコードで懇親できるでしょう！もちろん、例年通り、開始時に興味のあるテーマを決めるスタイルも継続するので、申し込み時にテーマを決めなくても大丈夫です！

In previous years, we would ask each participant what topic they were interested in at the start of the event and then form groups based on that topic. However, this year we have prepared some recommended topics in advance! There will be people who are knowledgeable about each topic, so if it matches your interests, you will be able to socialize in more depth with the code! Of course, as in previous years, we will continue to have participants decide on a topic they are interested in at the start of the event, so it's okay if you don't decide on a theme when you apply!
Theme 1: dRuby by seki
dRubyの作者と一緒にdRubyを体験できます！dRubyをまだ体験したことがない人にこそ体験して欲しいテーマです！
dRubyは小さなRubyスクリプトだけで実装された分散オブジェクトシステムです。あなたはリモートのオブジェクトをローカルと同じように扱えることに驚くでしょう！また、この機能がこんなに小さなRubyスクリプトで実装されていることにさらに驚くでしょう！
You can experience dRuby together with the creator of dRuby! This is a theme that we would like people who have not yet tried dRuby to experience!
dRuby is a distributed object system implemented with only a tiny Ruby script. You'll be amazed that you can treat remote objects the same as local ones! You'll be even more amazed that this functionality is implemented with such a tiny Ruby script!
Theme 2: MRI (Matz Ruby Interpreter, CRuby) by ko1
MRI開発者と一緒にMRIをハックできます！次のような人には楽しいテーマでしょう。
- MRIを自分でビルドしたい！
- MRIの挙動を変えたい！
- MRIの開発に参加したい！
事前に https://github.com/ko1/rubyhackchallenge にある情報を読んで動かしておくとより楽しめるはずです。
You can hack MRI together with a MRI developer! This will be a fun theme for people like the following:
- I want to build MRI myself!
- I want to change MRI's behavior!
- I want to participate in MRI development!

Theme 3: TRICK, Reline and IRB by tompng
TRICK 2022の金賞受賞者とTRICKで楽しめます！役に立つコードを書くときも奇妙なコードを書くときもRubyなら楽しいのです！
奇妙なコードでは端末プログラミングをすることもありますが、端末プログラミングしまくっているのがRelineとIRBです。奇妙なコードだけではなくReline・IRBでも楽しみましょう！
You can enjoy TRICK with TRICK 2022 gold medalist! Ruby is your best friend for both of useful code and weird code!
Weird code sometimes uses terminal programming. Reline and IRB also use terminal programming heavily. Let's enjoy not only weird code but also Reline and IRB!
Theme 4: RubyGems/Bundler by hsbt
Ruby と RubyGems/Bundler のコミッタと一緒に Ruby のライブラリやライブラリを管理する仕組みについて学びながらコードを書きましょう。例えば以下のような課題に取り組めます。
- RubyGems や Bundler のドキュメントが不足しているので補いたい
- すでにある機能に新しいオプションを追加したり、機能その物を追加したい
- rubygems.org の翻訳を追加したい
Let's code with Ruby and RubyGems/Bundler core member while learning about Ruby's libraries and how they are managed. For example, you can work on the following topics:
- Writing a missing documentation for RubyGems or Bundler.
- Adding a new option to an already existing feature or adding a feature itself
- Adding translations of rubygems.org
Theme 5: Red Data Tools by tikkss
Red Data ToolsはRuby用のデータ処理ツールを提供するプロジェクトです！データ処理もRubyで楽しくやってみたい人は、Red Data Toolsメンバーと一緒にRed Data Toolsプロダクトを触ってみましょう！

申し込み時にテーマを決めておかなくても大丈夫です！kouが当日話を聞いていい感じにテーマを決めてあげます！RubyKaigiで話を聞いて面白かったテーマになるかもしれませんし、すでにあるグループに参加することになるかもしれません。事前に決まっていないと不安になるかもしれませんが、どんなテーマになっても楽しめるはずです！Rubyは楽しいですし、Rubyistはniceですから！
It's OK if you don't have a theme decided when you apply! kou will listen to your talks on the day and decide on a theme that suites you! It might be a theme that you found interesting at RubyKaigi or you might end up joining an existing group. It might be a little worrying if it's not decided in advance. But you should have fun no matter what the theme is! Ruby is fun and Rubyists are nice!
